About SAD Lamp Guide
A small, independent research desk for people who want useful light—not another anonymous ranking page.
SAD Lamp Guide is a small, independent review site focused on one thing: helping you find the right light therapy lamp without wading through SEO spam or fake "tested" reviews.
How we research
We don't run a testing lab and we won't pretend we do. Instead, we do what a knowledgeable, honest friend would do before recommending a product:
- Read the manufacturer's published specifications — especially the lux rating, the distance at which it's measured, and the UV filtering
- Analyze hundreds of verified buyer reviews on Amazon, filtering for recurring patterns rather than individual complaints
- Cross-reference product claims against published clinical guidelines for light therapy (primarily from the Center for Environmental Therapeutics and peer-reviewed journals)
- Track price history to give you an accurate "~$X" estimate, not a stale number from six months ago
What we won't do
- Claim hands-on testing we haven't done
- Make medical claims about light therapy
- Accept paid placements or sponsored reviews
- Recommend a product we wouldn't use ourselves
How we make money
When you buy a product through one of our links, we may earn a small affiliate commission. This never affects our ratings or recommendations. Read our full affiliate disclosure for details.
